The 1999 to 2004 Mustang was known as the "New Edge Mustang" due to its sharp, angular styling cues. Internally known as the SN95, the New Edge Mustang was essentially a redesigned version of the Mustang platform that debuted in 1994. Inside, the 1999 to 2004 Mustang is virtually identical to the 1994 model and by the end of its life was considered extremely out of date and in need of some serious upgrading. Luckily for Ford Mustang fans, they got exactly that in 2005 with the introduction of the S197.

There was a huge variety of 1999 to 2004 Mustang models available. From The Humble V6 to the fire-breathing GT and a slew of special models in between, there are still a staggering number of 1999 to 2004 Mustangs on the road today. They are extremely popular as starting points for owners seeking both the drag strip and road course projects due to their affordability, part availability, and ease of upgrade. No matter what trim of Mustang you had, there are several things that can be easily upgraded to provide a much more pleasant and sporting driving experience!

One of the most common complaints with the new Edge Mustang is the factory seats, which while comfortable, provided very little lateral support for carving through corners out on the road course or down your favorite mountain road. Another common complaint was the factory shift knob on the New Edge Mustangs, which while perfectly functional, lacked the unique style that most owners were looking for. The pedals also lacked style and added nothing to the interior but, again, we're functional. Who wants just "functional"? We don't drive Mustangs for function, we drive them for fun!
