Description

Need more axle control with those sticky tires? The new Steeda Tubular Upper 3rd-Link gives you the ability to eliminate the torque deflection associated with the factory piece.

Steeda's upper link uses our track proven three-piece urethane bushing design on the chassis end to eliminate the annoying windup and wheel-hop you get with the soft factory bushing.

Steeda's upper 3rd link is a direct replacement for the factory original bolting into the factory location. Aluminum reinforced plates are a very high, aircraft quality. Comes Blue Powdercoated with bump stop and hardware.

Stepped Spacer Details
This spacer is designed to fix the problem with the OEM upper link. At the attachment point for the upper link to the chassis mount Ford uses a 14mm bolt, but the opening in the mount is 16mm. This is not typically a problem with the OEM mount as it uses a soft hydra mount bushing to soften this. But once an aftermarket upper is installed with a urethane bushing can transmit this noise or clunk. This space can be installed with all aftermarket upper that still use a 14mm bolt. The stepped spacer takes up the slop and eliminates all noise from the upper. Note, it does work with aftermarket chassis mounts with smaller then 16mm bolt holes.

Notes
  • All Steeda Upper Third Links produced on or after February 2007 include the Stepped Spacers.
  • Steeda's non-adjustable upper third link part number 555-4096 is intended for use on lowered vehicles only. Steeda's 555-4097 upper 3rd link can be used on stock ride height and lowered applications.

Perfect upper control arm
This is a high quality control arm and well thought out. Others want you to buy their bracket so you don't get the "clunk" because of the smaller mounting bolt, Steeda supplied correct bushings to correct the over size hole in the stock mount to make this control arm fit perfectly without extra expenses of buying an after market mounting bracket. Took just over an hour to install and the fit was right on

Great quality
I haven't had a chance to fully evaluate this part, but preliminary findings show it has quality every other Steeda part has.

High quality piece
Installed this along with the lower control arms. Easy install, fit perfect. Rear end feels connected and actually gives feedback now. Don't know what Ford was thinking with the marshmallow soft stock bushings.

eliminated driveshaft thud!
2012 gt 6 spd w/ 3.73. had previously lowered the car with the frpp non-adjustable suspension kit and later added gt500 lca's and an adjustable panhard bar. happy with the adds, but noticed the driveshaft would thud when taking my foot off the gas. added the steeda non-adjustable uca and the thud is gone! guessing the steeda uca fixed the pinion angle. also got rid of rear end creaking when backing out of my driveway. install wasn't too bad except for the big 24mm bolt under the rear seat which is torqued to 350 ft lbs. car feels perfect now! my only regret was not buying the steeda uca mount at the same time which would have made install easier.

A little harder to install
A little harder to install. You have to remove the rear seat for access to the bolts. You reuse the rubber mount on the rear differential so not too happy about that but from my research all uppers reuse the factory differential rubber mount. I preferred this over the adjustable one because im not a huge racing enthusiast and didnt want to worry about proper adjustment or it loosening up.
