Steeda's X5 balljoints are designed to raise the roll center of your S197 Mustang which becomes lower as a result of lowering with lowering springs.

Raising the roll center eliminates the issues associated with the lower roll center, making for a great improvement in handling by reducing body roll and improving the front tire contact patch without increasing spring rate or roll bar rate.

Steeda balljoints are made in the USA by a respected name-brand supplier to Ford, GM and Daimler Chrysler. Except for their custom length, they are the same materials and construction that has been extensively tested in Panther applications, that is, police cars and other severe duty applications, where they have demonstrated durability that exceeds current production "regular" balljoints. They meet Ford's standards for friction, wear, and durability.

Steeda's X5 ball joints change the bump steer geometry. Steeda highly recommends a bump steer kit be used in conjunction with the X5 balljoints.

Please Note: 18" wheels are required for clearance. Also, this product does not fit the 2010 GT500. 2010 is a transition year and some Mustangs may require the X11 ball joints.

Purchased these in addition to a bumpsteer kit to correct the geometry on my 07 GT track car. Corner entry and steering response is a night and day improvement, took 3 seconds off my lap times. Make sure to get a bumpsteer gauge or take the car to a race shop that knows how to set up the correct bump curve as most alignment shops won't know what to do.

X5 ball joint review
I installed them along with polyurethane bushings from prothane, safe to say the car handles a lot better but if you want the best performance install a bumpsteer kit too because the only problem I've faced is an increase in bumpsteer due to stock outer tie rods. I honestly recommend these ball joints to anyone with a lowered 05-09 mustang

Great choice
Installed on 2006 GT and made a great decision. Yes it would be easier to just replace the control arms, but if you can't wait for the arms, just grab these, press them in and you're good to go. Great choice and must have, with bumpsteer kit 555-8106.

Handles much better
I had a huge amount of noise coming from my ball joints and had play in the wheel so instead of replacing with OEM (they only lasted me 50k) I went with steeda. These look great and have OEM quality fit and way better finish. No more noise and with the Bumpsteer kit I handle much better. Get the bumpsteer too, I wouldn't drive with how out of alignment these alone got me.
