Description

*Save over 6 lbs. compared to the OE control arms by switching to Steeda!*

When only the best will do, say it with billet! These billet rear lower trailing arms replace the stamped steel OE parts, and depending on your desired performance goals are available with urethane bushings or a spherical bearing/urethane bushing combination for high horsepower applications.

These lightweight yet super strong arms reduce un-sprung weight and eliminate wheel hop. Steeda was first to market with these control arms and had them on the shelves even before the 2005+ Mustang was released thanks to our exclusive technology transfer program with Ford Motor Company. Steeda was the first to incorporate the proper design rear offset for the rear lower trailing arms.

Don't be fooled by other companies claiming to be first with this offset, yet they have only had their arms on the market a few months! Steeda's exclusive polyurethane bushing package also ensures smooth, quiet operation combined with performance. No increase in NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) with our poly bushings like competitors arms. Part number 555-4406 with a spherical bearing on one end and our exclusive poly bushings on the other is recommended for high horsepower applications and will only have a slight increase in NVH over the standard polyurethane bushing arms.

Don't settle for anything less than Steeda original innovation.

Note: 555-4407 recommended for 500+ horsepower applications. Slight increase in NVH will result from this part.

PATENT NO.: US D543,492

Hi everybody Brian from Steeda.com here today to talk to you about our S197 Billet Lower Rear Control Arms. Now one of the things that you S197 owners experience is wheel hop and it's because of the soft bushings the factory used. Not to mention the fact that those bushings are starting to get old, especially if you have an earlier S197. So we offer three different control arms to suit you and the different needs that you may have. Each of the arms is built of CNC Billet Aluminum. This takes off six pounds from the Lower Control Arms that takes away unsprung weight improves performance so each one of these is going to be an upgrade compared to the factory control arms. Now a lot of you are going through and adding performance upgrades to your car, but you're still driving on the street or maybe you'll take it to the drag strip once in a while. We have the perfect balance for you. This particular arm the street arm utilizes polyurethane bushings at both ends. Polyurethane bushings are higher durometer, much higher than the factory rubber bushings that were near original control arms. These will help alleviate wheel hop, but also won't transmit any noise vibration and harshness. For those of you taking it one step further we have the perfect arm for you designed for a track and for street. We utilize a spherical bearing at the back end to reduce any deflection. It's teflon coated, pre-loaded and made of stainless steel. We pair that up with a polyurethane bushing. Polyurethane bushings still going to be much stiffer than the factory rubber bushings but it's not going to add any noise vibration or harshness or at least very little. For those of you looking for the ultimate and performance but still street drivability we have the perfect arm for you. Utilizes the same spherical bearing at the other end however we've equipped this arm with a Delrin Bushing. This Delrin Bushing is a much higher durometer this means that there will be no deflection or very little deflection and instantaneous response. To sum it up we have three great controls arms for you. We have a street performance upgrade. We have our Street and Track Performance upgrade and this control arm actually is very popular with our GT500 owners and those of you that have added Superchargers or other power adders to your car, and lastly we have our Track and Street upgrade control arm. This is still streetable however it's really designed to be utilized and measured at the race track. Good stuff
Quality part but they will give you chassis noise since these use the delrin ends. Two things that are real important to do. One is install both arms and line up the rear end left/right how the control arms dictate using an adjustable panard bar. Don't force them to fit where you want the rear end to be. They don't bend left or right. Next abandon the Ford bolts on the chassis side and get new 14 MM bolts that have a shank that spans the width of the mount. Ford used a bolt where threads contact the mount so there is too much play to keep them from moving. Add a lock nut and just tighten enough to keep them in place but not so much that they are not free to move up and down. You can lock tight the rear end bolts since they swivel.

Highly recommend this for maximum traction on the street or at the track!
Had these installed by Steeda at their Pompano Beach, Fl location and took it straight to the track afterwards. It was amazing how the wheel hop disappeared and the car hooked up 1,000,000% better than it ever did from the factory. There is a slight NVH increase due to the bushings but nothing that would affect the experience of daily driving the vehicle. Highly recommend this for maximum traction on the street or at the track!

Massive improvement
Massive improvement over OEM and an improvement over the competitors LCA. Really firmed up the suspension and provides great feedback on what the rear is doing. Almost got rid of wheel hop with these LCA's alone. There is a minimal increase in NVH over the OEM LCA's. A great product that is topped off by an even greater technical staff at STEEDA. Frank, Patrick and Rod are all great to deal with and very knowledgeable.
