Product Install Instructions

Need to reduce wheel hop and improve traction? Steeda's upper 3rd links will do the job. The Steeda adjustable upper 3rd link for S197 Mustangs gives you the ability to set your pinion angle and eliminate the torque deflection associated with the factory piece. This upper 3rd link uses our track proven three piece bushing package using soft outer bushings a hard center bushing on the axle end. This proven combination helps control axle wind up, wheel hop under acceleration, and allows for proper articulation without deflection for improved handling and cornering stability.

Steeda's three piece bushing package will not increase NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) keeping the factory's quiet, smooth operation unlike competitor's pieces. Direct replacement for the factory original bolting into the original factory location. Our 3rd link is a double adjustable design allowing you to make adjustments without removing the arm from the vehicle.

A lot better than stock
The Steeda control arm is a lot better than the stock pressed metal parts, plus the factory bushings are pretty massive on the axel and in the stock bracket which contributes to a lot of axel slop under aggressive ecceleration.

Much improved over stock
Steeda's adjustable upper control arm and heavy duty mount was a big improvement over the stock upper control arm. It pretty much eliminated my axle hop.

Great for the Track
I try to install all upgrades myself - usually right on my driveway (better light than in the garage). This upgrade takes a bit more work to access and change out - but it really wasn't hard to do. Adjustments to pinion angle are SIMPLE. Don't be afraid to really tighten up the jam nuts. The instructions say to periodically inspect - I was hearing some rear-end noise and sure enough, I hadn't tightened the jam nuts tight enough. Taking the car out to Miller Motorsports Park told the story - Power On/Off - going through the gears - downshifting - articulating the suspension through the turns. Got rid of odd noises I was having. Keeps the driveshaft/axle in line. Love this piece!

Solid piece!
After hearing about the recent failures of other units I'm super glad I went with this one. Not only is it a great product it is nice to have peace of mind. What a nice soild Piece!

Massive improvement
Massive improvement over the OEM UCA. Really firmed up the suspension and provides great feedback on what the rear is doing. Coupled with the UCA Bracket and LCA's, wheel hop is totally gone. There was no increase in NVH over the OEM UCA. Get the bushing set for the axle end and replace the OEM rubber unit while you're there as well. Having as much room as possible under the Mustang helps with installation. A great product that is topped off by an even greater technical staff at STEEDA. Frank, Patrick and Rod are all great to deal with and knowledgeable about the products.

This piece is well made.
Like all Steeda parts, STOUT. This piece is well made. reduced wheel hop and helps with launching. Highly recommended. I have seen many other brands but this one was the most beefy.

If you're looking for an UCA this is it!
I had this installed almost 2 weeks ago and it makes a HUGE difference in traction even on the street! Build quality is second to none and it performs a million times better then stock. If you're looking for an UCA this is it! Make sure you get the adjustable mount as well for even more adjustability!

This is the first thing you should do, along with the LCA, sway bar, and adjustable panhandle. Car performs just as good if not better than independent rear end, plus I have the horsepower to beat up on every import..8>4

Overall, another Steeda product that works exactly as advertised; well done.
I got stuck in over the break here and put in all the rear suspension bits from my old, expired '12 as well as the Steeda UCA. So that meant, Panhard bar, rear lowering springs, DS loop and the UCA, as well as the previously installed LCAs. No problems with install of the UCA that weren't expected, having done this slightly inconvenient job before. The difference is phenomenal. The UCA is very effective compared to the just LCAs I had on before. No wheelhop, very minimal extra NVH (like an occasional clunk from the 2 piece driveshaft common to these cars) a straight shot out of the hole, clean suspension movement without binding. Overall, another Steeda product that works exactly as advertised; well done.
