Description

Steeda MK3 Ford Focus ST Lowering Springs for the 2014-2018 Focus ST are CNC wound in the United States with high tensile strength chrome-silicon spring wire. They are then heat treated, shot peened, re-heat treated, and finally powder-coated to ensure no spring sag during over the course of their service life, while also providing excellent corrosion resistance.

Put real handling into your Focus with Steeda Focus ST Lowering Springs for 2014-2018 Focus ST. These precision-engineered springs lower the Focus 1" in the front and 1.4" in the rear to lower the center of gravity, and improve overall vehicle appearance. Greatly improves the feel of the uninspiring factory suspension spring rates by improving traction , reducing built in understeer, and improving cornering ability.

One of the important aspects of Steeda Focus ST Lowering Springs for 2014-2017 Focus ST is the front to rear balance. Like most front wheel drive cars the Focus is prone to severe understeer when pushed to the limit. Steeda springs increase the rear spring rate proportionally more than they increase the front spring rate. This reduces the understeer considerably, while still being conservative enough to produce mild understeer at the limit so that the car is easy to drive.

Hi everybody Brian from Steeda.com. Here today reviewing the Steeda Lowering Springs for the Ford Focus ST. As noted in the opening, these are designed to lower your Focus ST. They're also designed to enhance performance but let's start with the lowering aspect first. Ford from the factory really sets the rear of the Focus up high and the reason they do this is because they want to make sure that the ride comfort of the car matches everyday use and the demands for most consumers. We know you Focus owners and we know you demand more out of your ST's so here we are with the Lowering Springs. These will lower the car one inch up front and 1.4 inches in the back. This means you have plenty of ground clearance but we get rid of that artificial rake. Now as far as ride quality is concerned, we also improve that and the way that we do that is we use a slight progression to the springs. This means they start out a little softer or equal to the stock rate and then gradually work their way up or progress into stiffer rates. Yet once you get into the twisties and start throwing this thing around corners it's going to corner like it's on rails. Clearly, we've gotten into much more than just the lowering aspect and started talking about the performance aspect. So let's keep building on that. The reality of these is it really dynamically changes the balance of the car. This gives you much more control, whether it's launching and the reduced wheel hop you'll get from having a stiffer spring and stiffer rear springs so the front of the car doesn't lift as much, to under hard braking not having anywhere near as much dive in the front end and having more control that way but the fun comes in for those of you that really want to throw the car around corners. Lift the throttle a little bit and you will get the back of the car to rotate as if it's a rear-wheel drive car. Tons of fun, tons of excitement. Add our Rear Sway Bar to this combo Oh Man does it change the dynamic of the car. We offer two sets of Steeda Lowering Springs for the Focus ST. One set fits 12 to 13 model years and the other is 14 and later. This is important because if you're planning to retain your factory front struts you definitely need to match the spring set to the year of your car. If you have a later car and you're planning to use the 12 to 13 struts you would use the 12 to 13 springs to suit. If you have questions about this definitely don't hesitate to reach out to us. To ensure consistent spring rates as well as strength we construct these of High Silica Steel and then powder coat them in a durable blue finish. These are backed by our lifetime warranty and we proudly manufacture these in the USA because, Speed Matters! So tell us a little bit more about your Focus have you lowered it what are you doing with it taking it to some Autocross events, Drag Racing or Road Racing it go ahead and comment below. If I could rate it higher, I would
After doing extensive research and going through 3 springs, Steeda did the job. I was sitting on coil overs but eventually I got tired of the them. No wheel hop and smooth around the corners! Excellent job!

Lowering without sacrificing comfort
As the title states, these springs lowered my focus st about 1 inch in the front and 1 1/2 in the back once settled in. The car is noticeably stiffer yet not choppy like lower quality springs. Can't wait for track days. Way to go steeda on another great high quality part. You truly get what you pay for.

Awesome product!
These springs are high quality and priced very well considering other competitors out there. It's worth noting that the springs are blue and not black though. After 250 miles, the springs have settled and now the car has an awesome stance. The drop truly is 1 front and 1.4 rear after you give them time to settle. The springs unfortunately come with no instructions, only a little suggestion page about lining up spring perch and trimming bump stops. Hate to admit it, but I used Cobb's instructions and they were well written. The ride is very close to stock and zero noise. There was an instant reduction in wheel hop and the ST feels much more planted after this mod. Coupled with the Steeda rear sway bar (also a great product) my ST feels like it's riding on rails now. Love it!

WOW!
I've had these springs on my ST for a couple of weeks now, and all I can say is WOW! These were exactly what I was looking for, the drop is perfect(1inch in front and 1.4inch in back) and the performance handling is fantastic. When you get on the throttle the front doesn't raise up and the rear of the car doesn't dip down anymore, and they keep the rubber planted to the pavement. I use my ST as a daily driver and I highly recommend these springs for all ST owners.
