Description

Steeda Focus Lowering Springs for the 2012-2013 Focus are CNC wound in the United States with high tensile strength chrome-silicon spring wire. They are then heat treated, shot peened, re-heat treated, and finally powder-coated to ensure no spring sag during over the course of their service life, while also providing excellent corrosion resistance.

Put real handling into your Focus with Steeda Focus Lowering Springs for 2012-2013 Focus. These precision-engineered springs lower the Focus 1" in the front and. 8" in the rear to lower the center of gravity, and improve overall vehicle appearance. Greatly improves the feel of the uninspiring factory suspension spring rates by improving traction , reducing built in understeer, and improving cornering ability.

One of the important aspects of Steeda Focus Lowering Springs for 2012-2013 Focus is the front to rear balance. Like most front wheel drive cars the Focus is prone to severe understeer when pushed to the limit. Steeda springs increase the rear spring rate proportionally more than they increase the front spring rate. This reduces the understeer considerably, while still being conservative enough to produce mild understeer at the limit so that the car is easy to drive.

Note: Does not fit Focus ST.

These springs perform as advertised. They definitely compliment the Steeda front and rear sway bars (I installed six months ago). There is a level of vibration from the steering input and through the Steeda short throw shifter (I installed 2 years prior) but that happens when change factory calibrated parts for performance ones. Still a small price to pay for the flat cornering and anti-dive characteristics these springs provide. My 2012 Focus S goes wherever I point it and I have achieved neutral handling without sacrificing a comfortable riding daily driver. Steeda thanks for the great engineering and quality products. Luv you guys.

Great Springs!
I installed these springs a month ago on my 2013 SE (which also has the Steeda Rear Swaybar) and they are great! My car had decent grip before and didn't understeer too bad, but the springs took everything to another level! There's more grip, less understeer, practically no body roll, brake dive is reduced by about 70%, and I can generally corner much harder. The spring rate is stiffer than the competition, but the drop in ride quality has been small to negligible in my opinion. I am also really enjoying the drop: the rear end rake is mostly gone and the drop as a whole is solid. I'd definitely recommend these springs to any Focus enthusiast.

Great Springs
I put these on my 13 Focus a week ago and I like them a lot. I had a shop install them for me because the install can be a huge pain on this car. I know a several guys who tried it on their Foci and messed stuff up. It took about four hours to install. Once it was done, the car didn't look any lower, but the springs have settled a bit and now it's probably a bit less than an inch lower front and back. The car still has a rearward rake, but it seems less obvious than before. I chose these springs over the competition because they were stiffer and more functional than the competition (who more often emphasize comfort and lowness over performance.) I'm glad I did. With the Steeda rear swaybar and summer tires my car handled significantly better than stock, but there was definitely some improvement to be made. With the Steeda springs, my car exhibits less body roll, less understeer, about 70% less brake dive, and the cornering grip has been significantly increased. On this one tricky sweeping turn that used to send me into a 4-wheel slide at 55 mph I can now take at 60 with no wheel slip and little understeer. If I had to do it over again, I'd definitely get these springs. They increase the handling limits of this car by a lot and have little to no impact on ride quality. And if that weren't enough they also lower the car and make it look better. Definitely a must-do mod for anyone looking to make their Focus better.

Best springs on the market!
I installed the Steeda Springs on my car about two weeks ago and all I have to say is this is the way the car should have come from the factory. The car has loosed the rear end rake from the factory springs and over all is about an inch lower. Also with the Steeda rear sway thats on my car there is basically no understeer to be found where ever you point the car it goes. If you are going to lower the car do it once, get these springs!
