Scott Boda here with Steeda Autosports. Today we're going to install our Steeda S550 Oil Separator Kit. Begin by removing the factory hose that's connecting from the PCV to the intake. We have these kits available in both in black and billet aluminum. Both engraved with a 5.0 logo and not engraved. The kit we'll be installing today is our Billet Black Oil Separator which will prevent oil and crankcase vapors from entering the intake manifold and decreasing your fuel octane. Install the filter onto the retainer and insert it into the bottom of the cap. Do not over-tighten the filter and retainer or the filter itself will crush and be ruined. Lubricate the provided o-ring with a small amount of general purpose grease and install the o-ring onto the small undercut above the threads on the cap. Next, thread the cap and bowl together, ensuring the o-ring does not get pinched and makes a tight seal between the cap and the bowl. Install and tighten the barb hose fittings into the Steeda Billet Cap. The fittings can be used in any desired combination. You will have to cut your factory line in order to splice the oil separator in. Use the 2 provided clamps to seal the PCV hoses to the barb fittings. The compression clamps will need a pair of crimping pliers or similar tool to crimp them tight. There are 2 extra clamps provided, in case of a mistake, or if you choose to mount the separator somewhere else on the engine at a later time. Re-install the assembly into the factory location to compete the install. Congrats, you have now installed the Steeda Billet Oil Separator for your S550 Mustang. Steeda Black Billet Oil Separator
Probably the easier install after assembly of the canister. My installation used painters tape, heat gun, and hack saw to position my separator. Start by marking off which section of the tube to remove with the painters tape. Next select the tube fittings for best fit. Cut tube with a hack saw. Take off tape and heat end of tube. Slide over fitting and compress tubing until cooled. Check fit and routing of separator. If needed, use heat gun to soften tubing to move separator to desired location. Support while allowing to cool. Done.

Super easy install
This was hands down one of the easiest upgrades I've ever installed on a vehicle. I was also pleasantly surprised that they even included a new PCV hose with the kit so you didn't have to cut your original one in half and run the risk of not being able to revert back. (I didn't see one in the picture, so it was definitely a big surprise when I opened my box and saw one) I have about 15k on my engine, so it's not A HUGE necessity at this time, but I did indeed see that I had quite a bit of blow-by after about 5000 miles. Worth every penny!

Good quality but hard install
Got this for my 2019 Bullitt and the quality is excellent however the install isn't easy. Cutting of the factory hose is required which makes it hard to fit exactly they way you want it. I had to cut the hose multiple times to make it fit right. I'm not sure if that is just a problem for the Bullitt in terms of space but my friend has the JLT oil separator and his was made for the Bullitt and even has the instructions specially for the 2019 Bullitt. The JLT is also a plug and play and does not require cutting of the hose. Overall I am satisfied with the product but the JLT might have been a better and easier route.

Super quick install!
Super quick install! Took me about 20-30 minutes from the moment I cracked open the box. Hardest part was forcing the hose fittings into the PCV hose on either end, but a little bit of patience and muscle allowed them to snap right in. A quick squeeze on the compression clamps on either end, and the catch can was finished and ready to rock!
