Monotube construction with a floating piston. The internal floating piston separates shock oil from pressurized nitrogen at all times, so the damper reacts cleanly to each input without the foaming or fade that plagues twin-tube designs under repeated or hard use. The result is consistent damping performance across the full duty cycle of a working Super Duty.
Digressive valving that reads the road. The 46mm digressive piston uses self-adjusting, deflective-disc independent rebound and compression valving. At low speeds and small inputs, the shock stays compliant; hit something hard and the digressive valving stiffens instantly to control body motion. That automatic adjustment happens without any driver input, keeping both on-road comfort and off-road composure dialed in simultaneously.
Hardware built for long-term durability. The 18mm centerless-ground, case-hardened, chromed, and super-polished rod resists side-loading and surface corrosion. The shock body is zinc plated for additional protection against the elements, and vulcanized natural rubber bushings absorb vibration at the mounting points while holding up to the flex cycles a lifted Super Duty generates over time. Each unit is constructed from a 2-inch seamless extruded tube and mounts body-up for a clean underbody appearance.
