Direct-injection EcoBoost engines recirculate crankcase vapors, oil mist, and moisture back through the PCV system and directly into the intake manifold. On a turbocharged platform like the 2013-2017 Focus ST, that contamination bakes onto intake valves, degrades intercooler efficiency, and raises the risk of detonation. The Moroso air-oil separator intercepts those vapors before they reach the intake, returning captured oil to the sump and sending clean air forward.
Billet aluminum construction with internal baffling. The separator body machines from billet aluminum and uses internal baffling combined with mesh media to strip oil droplets and moisture from blow-by gases. Heavy-duty brass inlet and outlet fittings, a length of fuel/emission/PCV vapor hose, a stainless steel mounting bracket, and a billet aluminum body clamp are all included so the kit installs as a complete assembly.
Protects the intercooler and intake valves long-term. Oil mist coating an intercooler core reduces heat transfer and robs boost efficiency. Keeping that mist out of the intake tract helps the ST's intercooler perform consistently and reduces carbon accumulation on the intake valves over the service life of the engine.
