Direct engagement with the oil pump drive. Remove the distributor, drop the primer into the distributor bore, and the pump-drive end engages the 1/4-inch hex male end of the oil pump drive shaft. A standard 3/8-inch drill chuck fits the opposite end, so you can spin the pump with a hand drill until pressure climbs and oil reaches every gallery, lifter bore, and main bearing.
