This Moroso steel wet-sump oil pan fits 1979-and-up Mustangs running the 429/460 engine, delivering a 9-inch deep rear-sump design with 7-quart capacity and integrated oil management features that keep oil where it belongs during hard cornering, acceleration, and braking.
Trap door and windage screen work together. A removable windage screen separates the crankshaft from the oil sump, reducing aeration and windage loss. The trap door keeps oil in the sump during acceleration and hard braking events, maintaining consistent oil pickup coverage and reducing the risk of oil starvation.
Integrated crank scraper improves oil return. The built-in crank scraper pulls oil off the rotating assembly before it can be flung around the crankcase, reducing parasitic drag and returning oil to the sump faster. Combined with the windage tray, it keeps the rotating assembly running in cleaner air.
Clearance and provisions are already accounted for. The pan clears a 4.50-inch stroke with most steel rods, making it compatible with common stroker combinations on the 429/460 platform. A 1/4-inch NPT dipstick provision is included, and the steel construction is finished in Moroso's black powder coat for corrosion resistance and a clean under-hood appearance.
