Hey guys, it's Chris from Steeda. And today, we're going to install and review these Morimoto Facelift XB LED Taillights fitting your 2010-2014 Mustang. So, let's get to it! We're here in the showroom at Steeda, showcasing these sleek Morimoto XB LED Facelift Taillights fitting your 2010-2014 Mustang. First impressions out of the box, absolutely love the S550, Euro-style look for your S197 Mustang. Gives you more of a refreshed updated look for the tails. Now I'll be honest, the 13-14 taillights are absolutely stunning in stock form, but if you're looking to give it more of an updated look - then you really can't go wrong with this S550 Euro design. Outside of that S550 inspired look, you're going to get from these Morimoto taillights, you will get a polycarbonate lens which will help against those UV rays and it features an injection-molded ABS housing for maximum durability much like the Morimoto XB LED headlights we did on this S197 recently. The taillights - super easy installation, they're absolutely 100% plug-and-play. Three nuts on the back, pop the old taillights out, pop the new ones in. We'll show you all how it's done! The tools required for this installation include: an 8-millimeter wrench, a quarter inch drive ratchet, 10-millimeter deep socket, 11 millimeter deep socket, and a 13 millimeter deep socket. To kick off the installation, go ahead and open your trunk. Then once the trunk's open, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and you're ready to get to work on the Steeda 2013 GT. We have a subwoofer installed on the back, so we're going to want to go ahead and remove that in order to get access to the rear trunk panel. Grab yourself a 13-millimeter socket to begin taking off the subwoofer. Once you remove the top two bolts, you want to go ahead to the bottom, towards the back, get that third bolt in the back, and then there's a fourth one right up front. So you'll want to take the subwoofer slide it towards the back on either side. Here you have these plastic pins, go ahead and start unscrewing them. Should come right out. Sometimes you need to apply some additional pressure using the panel in order to get them off. Next you'll want to remove this push pin on the trunk panel, and then the push pins on the trunk mat connecting to the panel, so you can get this whole panel off. Grab your panel removal tool, go ahead and remove those push pins. At this point, the panel should be able to come out. Now keep in mind, as you're removing the panel, you'll want to disconnect the trunk light from the panel so you can pull it out. Next you want to grab your 11 millimeter deep socket, and get to work. There will be three of these. You just pull the carpet back and loosen them all up. They won't be that tight. Keep a firm grasp on them, make sure they don't drop because as always it is easy to have these things go missing. Next you want to push down and disconnect the harness-As this whole thing will be going through this hole right here. Once all these nuts are off, slowly slide the taillight out from the back and push this rubber seal through. Now grab your Morimoto XB LED taillight and start feeding it through, make sure that rubber grommet seals and slide the tail light into place. Then you take your new connector, plug and play. Plugs right on in. You hear a confidence inspiring click. Go ahead and take your three nuts bolt the taillight back into place. I always like to screw them in by hand first, so you don't screw anything up - pun intended. These don't need to be super tight, just make them snug enough so the taillights don't fall out and hit the Camaro you just passed. And just like that, this side is done. You want to repeat the process on the passenger side of the car, and your installation is complete. All in all, installation really wasn't that bad. These taillights are a lot easier to install than the headlights, but you really can't go wrong. Plug-and-play, and I love the way they look, 2018 style. Kind of a euro look with the smoked. If you have the taillights on, obviously the red shines through. But if they're off, actually has that nice, clean, smoked, clear euro look. A huge thanks to Morimoto for putting together a great product, giving a facelift to this S197 mustang, which was otherwise a seven-year-old car.
