Great Exhaust, Mild to Wild As Needed!
I actually got ahold of the Magnaflow exhaust Steeda had used on one of their trade show cars a few times, so obviously it had already been installed and had a bit over 1k miles on it. First off, and most importantly, this exhaust is definitely for someone who wants to be as low-key as possible when they leave for work at 5am, but tear it up on their way home ( I got myself pulled over within a week of installation because I couldn't help gunning it to hear the exhaust tone!). At warm idle, exhaust burbles and sounds mean. I grew up with Mustangs and aftermarket exhaust, so I didn't want anything ricey, and this is definitely not a cheap sounding exhaust. I have a stage 3 setup with a catless DP, and still, drive mildly, and you get a mild tone. Drive it like you stole it, and it screams. Perfect balance. So why only 4 stars? As you have read or heard on various forumes, the original design (model I received) does not fit properly into the stock space. No matter what I did, and how I twisted things, I had to leave the cross brace under the front muffler off. Additionally, on a regular, but not obnoxious basis, I get a rattle near the rear end during low RPMs.. Pretty positive it's coming from the rear muffler and its 1/2 clearance from the heat shield next to it. Have tried adjusting everything again, and no luck. Even have my idle tuned to 950 to negate as much lumpiness as possible, but can't seem to get rid of it. But honestly, it's quite livable considering I've basically maxed my ST out, and love the tone and Jeckle/Hyde dual personalities of this lightweight, free flowing exhaust! I love it, and have no regrets whatsoever with my decision to go with Magnaflow!
