The Heatshield Products HP Turbo Shield Kit attacks both problems at once, wrapping the turbo and downpipe in extreme-temperature insulation rated to 1800°F continuous and 2200°F intermittent to keep heat contained where it belongs.
Faster spool, lower under-hood temps. Keeping heat inside the turbocharger allows it to build boost pressure faster, reducing turbo lag and delivering more consistent power. At the same time, containing that heat cuts radiant heat exposure to surrounding components by up to 60 percent, protecting rubber, plastic, and electronic parts that live close to the exhaust path.
Multiple configurations to suit the build. The kit covers the full turbo-and-downpipe combination or separates into individual components. The turbo shield measures 9 inches by 19 inches; the downpipe shield is 1/2-inch thick, 10 inches wide, and 36 inches long. Lava and Stealth series options add volcanic rock-based fiber blankets with a rugged or low-profile black finish, respectively, paired with either Heatshield Armor wrap or Lava Wrap exhaust wrap in a 2-inch by 25-foot roll. Both blanket series are up to 25 percent stronger than standard fiberglass wraps.
