Radiant heat from headers and exhaust manifolds burns through spark plug boots faster than almost anything else under the hood, causing misfires, rough idle, and premature ignition component failure. Heatshield Products' Insul-Boot slips over the boot and holds the heat back, rated for continuous exposure at 1200°F and intermittent peaks up to 2000°F, even in direct contact with headers.
Double-wall construction that reflects and dissipates. Each Insul-Boot uses a double-wall fiberglass shell that is specially heat-treated to both reflect radiant heat away from the boot and dissipate what it absorbs. The result is a significant drop in the temperature the underlying plug wire and boot actually see, extending their service life and keeping ignition performance consistent.
A built-in retention ring keeps it in place. A metal retention ring is integrated into each shield to prevent it from sliding up the wire and exposing the boot during vibration or service. The 1-inch inner diameter fits most spark plug boots, including 90-degree styles, so one part covers the majority of applications without modification.
Installation does not require removing the plug. Insul-Boots slip on and stay put without tools, and they do not interfere with routine plug changes. Available in tan, red, blue, and black finishes, and sold in 2-packs or 8-packs to suit a single cylinder replacement or a full set.
