Forged internals built to survive abuse. This short block is based on the Shelby GT500 engine block and uses the 5.2L cross plane crankshaft technology developed for the GT500 Mustang. Inside you will find Mahle forged pistons, Manley H-beam connecting rods, ARP rod bolts, and a forged steel crankshaft, all working together to handle the heat and cylinder pressure that come with a serious power build. Forged components simply hold up better than cast parts when things get pushed hard, which matters once you start adding boost or spinning the engine past stock limits.
Assembled by the same hands that build race engines. Every Aluminator short block is hand assembled by the same technicians responsible for Ford's Mustang Cobra Jet drag racing engines. That level of attention means tighter tolerances, better balancing, and a short block that is built to perform rather than just built to meet a spec sheet. A billet steel oil pump gear set and a high RPM pulse ring are also included, giving the engine the oiling stability it needs when you start living at higher RPM.
