Ford Racing Mustang 5.2L GEN 3 Cylinder Head - LH (2015-2023)

Factory cylinder heads are engineered around cost, emissions, and everyday drivability, which means there is a lot of power left on the table for enthusiasts chasing serious horsepower. The Ford Racing 5.2L "GEN 3" LH Cylinder Head is a fully CNC ported, race proven head based on the production 2021 GT500 casting, giving you the airflow, valve size, and structural strength to support high horsepower Coyote and Predator builds without compromise.

Stronger castings built for boost and abuse. This Gen 3 head is an upgraded version of the Ford Racing M-6049-M52A, using improved high performance 5.2L castings that add strength and increase the size of the central cooling passages. That extra cooling capacity helps the head shed heat more effectively under sustained high load, whether you are running a supercharger, turbos, or just beating on the car at the track. The added strength gives you confidence to push power levels well beyond what the factory head was ever designed to handle.

Fully CNC ported for maximum airflow. Every intake port, exhaust port, and combustion chamber on this head is fully CNC ported at the factory, delivering consistent, repeatable port geometry that a hand ported head simply cannot match. Port sizing is larger than the 2015-2017 5.0L Coyote heads, and valve sizing is increased as well, with a 38.3mm intake valve and 32.5mm exhaust valve compared to the 37.3mm intake and 31.8mm exhaust valves found on earlier Coyote heads. More port volume and larger valves mean more air in and out of the cylinder, which translates directly into more power.

Upgraded valvetrain for higher lift and better durability. New valvetrain geometry on this head allows for higher valve lift than earlier Gen 1 and Gen 2 designs, opening the door for more aggressive camshaft profiles. Lightweight hollow stem intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves reduce reciprocating mass and improve heat transfer away from the exhaust valve, while stiffer exhaust valve springs, upgraded valve guides, and an upgraded exhaust valve seat all work together to keep the valvetrain stable and reliable at high RPM and high boost.

Ready to build, not ready to bolt straight on. This is a loaded head assembly, complete minus camshafts, rocker arms, and lash adjusters, so you are getting a nearly finished piece to speed up your engine build. Keep in mind that using this head on a 5.0L Coyote requires a unique camshaft due to the revised valvetrain geometry, along with 5.2L specific rocker arms, lash adjusters, and the correct head changing kit. Installing this head on a 5.0L short block also requires piston modification for proper piston to valve clearance, so plan your build accordingly. This is the LH (left hand) cylinder head, sold individually.
