G3500 disc alloy sets the thermal ceiling higher. Every outer ring uses the highest-grade disc alloy available in production, with elevated carbon and copper content that raises thermal conductivity and heat-cycling durability well beyond standard cast iron. In back-to-back Reg 90 dynamometer testing, EBC's two-piece rotors completed two full cycles with zero cracking and no disc crazing. Most OEM rotors show cracking at stop 40 and fail at stop 80 of 150, a single cycle. EBC's two-piece design outperformed that baseline by more than four times in the R90 Thermal Fatigue Test.
Floating construction absorbs heat expansion without stress. A fully floating rotor allows the outer ring to move independently of the hub during thermal expansion. That movement eliminates the internal stresses that cause warping and cracking in rigid one-piece discs, keeping pedal feel consistent lap after lap rather than degrading as temperatures climb.
48 curved and handed vanes maximize cooling efficiency. Each outer ring features 48 curved vanes cast in a handed configuration, left and right, so the vanes always rotate in the correct direction for their side of the vehicle. This directional design maximizes the volume of air drawn through the rotor, pulling heat out of the friction surface faster than a straight-vane or non-handed design could achieve.
Reduced unsprung weight changes how the car behaves. Because a rotating brake disc carries rotational inertia in addition to static weight, every gram saved at the rotor has a compounding effect on acceleration response, braking dive, and tire contact. The aluminum hub in the SG2FC conversion delivers a meaningful weight reduction over a comparable solid iron rotor, and the resulting improvement in vehicle response is immediately perceptible to the driver.
All hardware manufactured at EBC's UK facility. The center hub, stainless steel bobbins, pressure clips, and assembly hardware are produced entirely at EBC Racing's UK production facility. Every cast iron ring is balance checked, metallurgy verified, and precision double-disc ground for flatness accurate to within microns before leaving the factory.
