EBC F-150 4.2L 2WD 6-Lug GD Sport Front Rotors (2004)

Stock rotors on a work truck handle daily driving just fine, but add a loaded trailer, a mountain descent, or an emergency stop and the limits of cast iron with no thermal management become apparent fast. EBC's GD Sport Rotors bring wide-aperture slots and dimple drilling to the front axle of the 2004 F-150 4.2L 2WD 6-lug, giving heat and gases a way out before fade sets in.

Wide-aperture slots that actively cool the braking surface. The GD slot geometry draws cool air under the pad-to-rotor interface during heavy braking. Brake pad contact temperatures can exceed 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit under hard use; channeling air through that zone reduces heat soak, limits fade, and maintains consistent pedal feel across repeated stops.

Dimple drilling without the cracking risk. EBC pioneered the dimple-drilled rotor in the 1990s as an alternative to through-drilled holes, which concentrate stress and promote cracking under thermal cycling. The dimples provide pad degassing and surface refresh while keeping the rotor structurally intact across the full braking surface.

Third-generation corrosion protection. Every GD series rotor ships with a silver corrosion-resistant finish that protects the non-swept surfaces from rust scaling. The slots also continuously expel dirt, mud, water, and brake dust from the pad contact zone, keeping the braking surface clean between stops.

Manufactured to ISO and TÜV standards. EBC machines all GD series rotors from R90-approved blanks, with the majority cast in the EU. Every rotor goes through a 100-percent runout, metallurgy, and dimensional check before release, then receives balance and runout inspection at the facility level. Slotting on USA sport rotors is performed at EBC's Las Vegas facility or in the UK.
