Wide-aperture slots pull heat away from the pad interface. At the heart of a hard stop, brake pad surface temperatures can exceed 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. EBC's wide slots draw cooler air under the pad and rotor contact zone, reducing the thermal spike that triggers brake fade and maintaining consistent pedal feel during repeated aggressive stops.
Dimple drilling without the crack risk. EBC pioneered the dimple-drilled rotor in the 1990s as a way to provide pad degassing benefits without through-drilling the disc. Through-holes concentrate stress at the drill point and can promote rotor cracking under repeated thermal cycling.
