Machined from fine-grained forged 4340 steel in an H-beam configuration, this eight-piece set ships with Ultra BLT145 bolts and arrives ready to drop into your build with minimal additional prep work. Every dimension, from the 6.657-inch length to the 2.239-inch rod journal and 0.866-inch pin bore, is held to tight tolerances through a multi-stage stress relief and re-torque process that protects big-end bore geometry across repeated disassembly cycles.

Dimensional repeatability you can count on. Compstar subjects each rod to an extended stress relief cycle followed by multiple re-torque passes. The process burns in threads and bolt-seat surfaces so the big-end bore stays round on the bench, at first startup, and on every teardown and rebuild after that. Out-of-round big ends are a leading cause of bearing failure; Callies addresses the root cause rather than leaving it to the engine builder to sort out.

Prep work done at the factory. Pin bushings are Ampco 18 bronze, a deformation-resistant material that holds its shape under high wrist-pin loads. Each bushing arrives chamfered and honed to proper high-performance oil clearance. Parting-line edges are chamfered to prevent bearing shell damage during installation, and bearing tab slots are de-burred so the locating tab seats fully the first time.

Stroker clearance and bolt upgrades included as standard. Bolt placement is specifically located to open rotational clearance at the bottom of the bores and at the pan rails, an important detail for stroker builds. Strengthening gussets are added to the cap bolt-seat area where cross-sectional thickness is thinnest, improving both strength and dimensional stability. Contouring above the bolts extends cam clearance and reduces the amount of block clearance required on the cam side.

High strength-to-weight ratio at 680 grams. Callies used 3D solid modeling throughout development to strip mass from non-critical sections without compromising structural integrity.
