Callies Compstar Sport Series connecting rods bring professional-grade engineering to the 2.0L EcoBoost platform, giving Focus ST and Fusion builders a rod set that survives high-output applications without requiring costly pre-installation prep work. Machined from fine-grained 4340 steel in an H-Beam profile, these rods measure 156mm in length, accept a 52mm rod journal, and use a 22.5mm wrist pin. Each set includes four rods available with your choice of ARP 2000 or Custom Age 625 bolts to match the demands of your specific build.
Big-end bore dimensional stability. Out-of-round big-end bores are one of the most common complaints with aftermarket connecting rods. Callies addresses this through an extended stress-relief process combined with multiple re-torque cycles, burnishing threads and bolt spot faces so the bores remain round through repeated disassembly and reassembly. What comes out of the box stays round when it goes back together.
Ready to install without extra prep. Compstar rods arrive with pin bushings already chamfered and honed to proper high-performance oil clearance. Parting line edges are generously chamfered to prevent scraping during bearing shell insertion, and bearing locating tab slots are de-burred so tabs seat fully. Most of the detail work an engine builder would otherwise spend hours completing is already done.
Stroker clearance built in from the start. Rather than offering clearance as an upsell, Callies engineers the room in from the beginning. Bolt placement provides additional rotational clearance at the bottom of the bores and at the pan rails. Contouring above the bolts increases cam clearance on the cam side of the bore.
Ampco 18 wrist pin bushings. The pin end uses Ampco 18 bronze material, chosen specifically for its deformation resistance under high-load, high-rpm conditions. This bushing material maintains pin bore geometry where lesser materials would distort over time.
Cap gusseting for structural integrity. Strengthening gussets are added to the bolt spot-face area of the cap, precisely where cross-sectional thickness is thinnest. The gussets increase load capacity at the cap and contribute to dimensional stability across the full rpm range.
Product Benefits
- 4340 Steel H-Beam Construction: Fine-grained 4340 provides a high strength-to-weight ratio suitable for high-output EcoBoost builds.
- Bolt Choice Included: Select ARP 2000 for strong street and track use, or Custom Age 625 for maximum-output applications.
- Dimensional Repeatability: Stress-relief and multi-cycle re-torque processing keeps big-end bores round through repeated assembly cycles.
- Ampco 18 Pin Bushings: Deformation-resistant bronze maintains pin bore geometry under sustained high-load conditions.
- Pre-Prepped for Installation: Chamfered and honed pin bushings, chamfered parting edges, and de-burred tab slots reduce bench time.
- Stroker-Ready Geometry: Bolt placement and bore contouring provide cam and pan-rail clearance for stroker applications.
- Cap Gussets: Added material at the thinnest section of the cap increases strength and dimensional stability.
- Specs: 156mm length, 52mm rod journal, 22.5mm pin.
Note: Fits 2.0L EcoBoost found in the 2013-2020 Focus ST and Fusion. Callies Compstar Sport Series H-Beam rods are designed for High RPM N/A or mild boost applications. Verify dimensions are compatible with your build before ordering.
