The result is a big-end bore that stays dimensionally consistent regardless of how many times the cap is pulled and re-torqued, which matters in any build where the engine will see teardowns for inspection or tuning changes.

Machined from fine-grain 4340 steel in an H-beam profile. The 4340 alloy provides the tensile strength and fatigue resistance that high-output forced-induction applications demand. 3D solid modeling allowed Callies engineers to remove mass from low-stress areas while adding strengthening gussets at the bolt spot-face on the cap, where cross-sectional thickness is thinnest. Contouring above the bolt bosses also increases cam clearance and reduces the material removal required at the bottom of the bores on the cam side, making these rods a straightforward fit in stroker configurations.

Prep work done before the rods ship. Pin bushings are chamfered and honed to proper high-performance oil clearance using Ampco 18 material, which resists deformation under high pin loads. Parting line edges are generously chamfered to prevent bearing shell damage during installation, and bearing locating tab slots are deburred so the bearing tab seats fully without additional fitting. Builders spend time assembling engines, not deburring parts.
