The S550 Mustang Bullitt is a tribute to one of the most iconic cars in cinema history, blending
the iconic Highland Green aesthetics and custom badging with the power of a modern Mustang GT. While the
S550 Bullitts come
from the factory with a slight power bump over the standard GT, there is always room for more. We
recently took a 2019 Bullitt into the shop to see how it would respond to forced induction and a
driveline upgrade.
To take this 2019 Mustang Bullitt to the next level, we selected the ProCharger Mustang 5.0L P-1SC-1
High-Output Intercooled Supercharger System. This centrifugal setup is ideal for the S550 platform,
providing the ability to increase horsepower by 50-60%, all while maintaining cooler temperatures and
denser air than Roots or TVS superchargers, which absorb heat from your engine. This means you can have
more consistent performance, pull after pull, or race on the track without heat soak. To ensure that newfound power makes it to the pavement smoothly, we installed a McLeod Mustang GT RXT
Twin Disc Clutch
Kit. Rated for up to 1,000 HP, the RXT provides incredible holding power without sacrificing the light
pedal feel required for a daily-driven street car. Before bolting on the ProCharger, we strapped the Bullitt to our dyno to establish a baseline. During
those baseline pulls, the 2019 Mustang Bullitt produced a respectable 433
horsepower and 393 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. These numbers represent a strong foundation, but for
the owner of this Bullitt, "respectable" wasn't enough.
After ensuring everything was dialed in and the customer had put 500 miles on the car, it was time to
strap the Bullitt
to our dyno again and see the results.
Peak Horsepower: 643 HP |
Peak Torque: 518 lb-ft The 2019 Bullitt peaked at 643 horsepower and 518 ft-lbs of torque.
Whether you drive a Bullitt, GT, or Mach 1, we have the supercharger systems and performance parts
