2018 Mustang GT Silver Bullet Drops a Quarter-Second at SGMP!

After backing up its 10.98 pass with a full-weight 10.96 in Bradenton, our Silver Bullet wasn't done! The 2018 Mustang GT, if you haven't already heard, is an absolute BEAST! The team at Steeda received our silver, base package, 10R80 Auto Mustang GT with one goal in mind - to show that you don't need to spend 5 or 6 figures on a purpose-built drag car to go fast! More specifically, we wanted to show that anyone can get into the 10s with mild bolt-ons and dedication. That goal was knocked out of the park at SGMP in South Georgia, as the car finally got the opportunity to run in cooler temps with a more favorable DA, getting down to a 10.71 @ 128 mph!

Upon arriving at the track, the car ran a 10.78 right off the bat, so there was excitement in the air. However, the team remained relatively unphased by the 10.78, feeling that there was plenty more to be achieved with the car. The third run proved to be the record-shattering 10.71 pass at 128.76 MPH and just over 3,700lbs, but the 2018 Mustang GT wasn't done yet! On its next run, it gapped a Hellcat, all for about $20,000 less . Scott Boda, Steeda's Director of Manufacturing & Engineering/drag pilot, wanted to keep pushing the car to lower ETs that evening, but the car was fighting some other demons (not Dodge Demons) that prevented him from further cementing the Silver Bullet's status as a certified monster. As it stands, the Silver Bullet holds the current world record for the fastest NA 2018 Mustang GT!

The car is Naturally Aspirated and has been running with our 3D-printed 2018 Cold Air Intake prototype. For the Bradenton trip and the 10.71 run, QA1 was kind enough to provide us with their prototype 2018 Carbon Fiber Rev Series Driveshaft, to go along with American Racing Headers Long Tube Headers & X-Pipe, and Race Star 95 Recluse wheels.
