Tom Ellis is off to the SCCA National Championship Races

Newly crowned Sports Car Club of America Southeast Division American Sedan Class Champion Tom Ellis is off to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, Presented by Kohler. The annual event showcases the best SCCA competitors in all 23 National Classes from every region in the country. This September 19-25 Ellis and his Steeda Autosports equipped Mustang will compete for the American Sedan National Championship at the beautiful Mid - Ohio Sports Car Course located near Mansfield, Ohio.

In only his second year SCCA competition, Tom won the Southeast Division Championship after a very tough, season long, battle with 2004 Southeast Division Champion, Bob Eubanks, also driving a Steeda equipped Mustang. The winning Ellis Mustang was built and prepped for each race by the Steeda technical staff, headed by Steeda's Racing Chief Engineer, Steve Chichisola. Working all season long with the Averitt Express Mustang Crew Chief, Jose Carbonell were Steeda technicians Chad Coy and Sam Cory.

Before leaving for Mid- Ohio, Ellis was quick to express his appreciation to his team for an exciting season of racing. "I want to thank my Crew Chief Jose Carbonell and the Steeda Team, Steve, Chad and Sam for all the dedication and hard work from the time we received the Mustang through the long season. Chad Coy has literally lived with the Mustang all season long and I would not have won the championship without him. I especially appreciate the all the extra time and effort Chad and the team put in preparing the Mustang for the runoffs, we are looking forward to competing for the National Championship."
