The stock intake was not optimized for such conditions and this could be causing your truck to draw in air from the front grille that is full of dust and debris. This snorkel helps your truck draw fresh and clean air from above the dust and debris, helping to improve the quality of air going into your 2.3L EcoBoost.
Avoid the dust. Mounting 24 inches above the stock inlet location, your engine has access to cleaner air. Often, dust, debris, and splashes are kicked up low to the ground and right into your factory intake inlet. By relocating the inlet, you are able to get better service intervals and more life from your air filters and improve the quality of air that your engine draws in. The inlet is also removable and can be swapped for a pre-filter if you would like additional filtration.
