Ford trucks equipped with the 4R70 transmission originally came with a factory 12" converter built for smooth, stock driving, not for handling bolt ons or a power adder. The Circle D Ford 11" HP Series 4R70 Torque Converter swaps in a smaller, stronger diameter, giving your truck a quicker, more responsive launch while still driving great on the street.

Stronger construction where the factory converter falls short. This converter uses a billet front cover paired with a new 3 disc lock clutch pack in place of the factory single disc setup, giving it far more clamping force and durability. The pump and turbine are furnace brazed rather than stamped and glued, which holds up significantly better under repeated hard use. Torrington style bearings are used on all three thrust surfaces to reduce friction and extend service life, and a 4140 heat treated input spline adds strength right where factory converters are known to wear out.

A smaller diameter built for a stronger launch. Moving from the factory 12" converter down to an 11" design gives this converter a noticeably quicker launch feel, with a stall speed around 2800 rpm that works well with bolt on upgrades or even a power adder. It's a fun upgrade for a daily driven truck, lifted or not, and it's the converter Circle D recommends for trucks running a Stage 1 or Stage 2 camshaft.
