2019 Ford Mustang Specs & Details

Still fresh from the slight redesign in 2018, the 2019 Mustang has been seeing new light from buyers across the globe for its high-caliber interior matched to its aggressive and sleek exterior. The 2019 Mustang is available with three different engine options - the smaller and more efficient 2.3L turbocharged inline four-cylinder, the instantly recognizable Coyote 5.0 V8, and the screaming Shelby GT350/GT350R. These engines have proved more than tough enough to push the Mustang forward, and the future looks bright for these models. With only the Shelby not offering the newer 10-speed automatic gearbox, the Mustang can be enjoyed by any driver.

The entry-level EcoBoost Mustang still offers incredible value for the money with 310 horsepower through the 6-speed manual. But if you’re into acceleration, the 10-speed automatic which keeps the car in the optimal RPM range where the turbo is most active to both improve fuel economy and power delivery. As a result, the EcoBoost has garnered a lot of attention by achieving 32 miles per gallon on the highway and 21 miles per gallon in the city. The EcoBoost Mustang has also kept the price of entry into the Mustang market down at less than $27,000 for a base trim with the manual gearbox.

The most exciting part of the Mustang lineup is the return of an icon in the form of the BULLITT edition Mustang. Finished in either Dark Highland Green Metallic or Shadow Black, the BULLITT offers classic muscle car style with a touch of Steve McQueen’s attitude throughout with brushed metal accents, a cue ball shift knob since the BULLITT is manual-only with rev-matching, a unique rear decklid, and model-specific wheels. Additionally, the car receives slight performance upgrades in the form of strut tower bracing and a cold air intake which bring the BULLITT to 480 horsepower from the Coyote V8. The new BULLITT is the bruiser to get if you want a piece of Ford history. And, if you're looking to take your BULLITT to the next level, then be sure to check out the Steve McQueen Edition Bullitt by Steeda!

For those who still would rather go a little more stylized, the California Special makes its return to the Mustang lineup after a couple years of absence and with it brings tech also found in the BULLITT such as the rev-matching system in manual-equipped cars while the 10-speed gearbox is also available. With new technology overflowing out of the car, the California Special stays true to its name and keeps the car unique even among other S550 Mustangs.

The Shelby GT350 and GT50R continue to be the ultimate in track performance and raw driving for the Mustang. While neither car receives any major changes outside of two new color choices and a new standard infotainment screen. Along with this, the only new option is an upgraded handling package that adds the gurney flap wing and improved bushings.
