Steeda Focus ST Lowering Springs for the 2012-2013 Focus ST are CNC wound in the United States with high tensile strength chrome-silicon spring wire. They are then heat treated, shot peened, re-heat treated, and finally powder-coated to ensure no spring sag during over the course of their service life, while also providing excellent corrosion resistance.

Put real handling into your Focus with Steeda Focus ST Lowering Springs for 2012-2013 Focus ST. These precision-engineered springs lower the Focus 1" in the front and 1.4" in the rear to lower the center of gravity, and improve overall vehicle appearance. Greatly improves the feel of the uninspiring factory suspension spring rates by improving traction , reducing built in understeer, and improving cornering ability.

One of the important aspects of Steeda Focus ST Lowering Springs for 2012-2013 Focus ST is the front to rear balance. Like most front wheel drive cars the Focus is prone to severe understeer when pushed to the limit. Steeda springs increase the rear spring rate proportionally more than they increase the front spring rate. This reduces the understeer considerably, while still being conservative enough to produce mild understeer at the limit so that the car is easy to drive.

CA Residents: Cancer and Reproductive Harm WARNING

Hi everybody Brian from Here today reviewing the Steeda Lowering Springs for the Ford Focus ST. As noted in the opening, these are designed to lower your Focus ST. They're also designed to enhance performance but let's start with the lowering aspect first. Ford from the factory really sets the rear of the Focus up high and the reason they do this is because they want to make sure that the ride comfort of the car matches everyday use and the demands for most consumers. We know you Focus owners and we know you demand more out of your ST's so here we are with the Lowering Springs. These will lower the car one inch up front and 1.4 inches in the back. This means you have plenty of ground clearance but we get rid of that artificial rake. Now as far as ride quality is concerned, we also improve that and the way that we do that is we use a slight progression to the springs. This means they start out a little softer or equal to the stock rate and then gradually work their way up or progress into stiffer rates. Yet once you get into the twisties and start throwing this thing around corners it's going to corner like it's on rails. Clearly, we've gotten into much more than just the lowering aspect and started talking about the performance aspect. So let's keep building on that. The reality of these is it really dynamically changes the balance of the car. This gives you much more control, whether it's launching and the reduced wheel hop you'll get from having a stiffer spring and stiffer rear springs so the front of the car doesn't lift as much, to under hard braking not having anywhere near as much dive in the front end and having more control that way but the fun comes in for those of you that really want to throw the car around corners. Lift the throttle a little bit and you will get the back of the car to rotate as if it's a rear-wheel drive car. Tons of fun, tons of excitement. Add our Rear Sway Bar to this combo Oh Man does it change the dynamic of the car. We offer two sets of Steeda Lowering Springs for the Focus ST. One set fits 12 to 13 model years and the other is 14 and later. This is important because if you're planning to retain your factory front struts you definitely need to match the spring set to the year of your car. If you have a later car and you're planning to use the 12 to 13 struts you would use the 12 to 13 springs to suit. If you have questions about this definitely don't hesitate to reach out to us. To ensure consistent spring rates as well as strength we construct these of High Silica Steel and then powder coat them in a durable blue finish. These are backed by our lifetime warranty and we proudly manufacture these in the USA because, Speed Matters! So tell us a little bit more about your Focus have you lowered it what are you doing with it taking it to some Autocross events, Drag Racing or Road Racing it go ahead and comment below. This guy is happy!
The way my car handles with this bar is perfect. It keeps it much flatter in the turns and really makes it corner like a champ. i was skeptial a bar could make this much of a difference but once again they have made me a happy camper!

Perfect ride height
This is the perect ride height for an ST. I cant make up my mind about whats better the ride height of the handling. They are both perfect! The ride quality driving around town is perfect and the handling in the corners is awesome, great job on this one Steeda!

Great springs...
Well...Steeda has done it again. Another great product for the new Focus ST. I have a host of Steeda parts on my Focus now and the springs were the latest addition. They took me about 4.5 hrs to install in my garage. You probably need a buddy to help with the fronts but the rear you can do by yourself. Reference install instructions on forum...there is a good write up that will get you thru it. There were no instructions for these springs and I called Steeda up for a few details. They told me to cut about 0.5-1.0 in off the front and rear bump stops. I cut the first ring off the fronts stops (hollow) with box knife and took a wood saw to the rear (solid) stops. Also, for the rear springs the tighter coils face up...putting the Steeda wording the springs right-side up. Ride is great...doesn't sit too low and there is NOTICEABLE less body movement under hard acceleration and corning. Car feels great now!

No Disappointment
Took me awhile to decide between these and Eibach's but in the end I decided I want the Steeda name on my car. I have no regrets in doing so. The install was a bit rough due to not having all the needed tools available. Even with no experience with the Focus suspension system (tech recommended by Steeda) I was able to follow a write up on a forum. Turned out to be an easy install, even for someone with even a little mechanical inclination. Most importantly, the best part of the springs is how they make the car look and feel. Had some concern lowering my car in Hawaii (bad roads) but they set the stance just right. And the feel holding that gas down on freeway roundabouts is much improved and fun. Now to get a sway bar.

Highly recommend
First off I would like to say the springs that you receive are blue, not black. Not an issue to me, just would like to inform everyone considering buying these. After installing the springs I can say my ST looked great. I have had them on the car now for over 7500 miles and can say I have no regrets. The car sits much more level now. The already great handling of the ST has been enhanced even more now. I absolutely love these springs. The comfort during daily driving is just as comfortable as the stock ride. I would recommend these springs to anyone and everyone with a ST.

Great fit and ride!!!
Had the springs installed and you can feel the tightness in your turns, the stance of the car is perfect. Not too low where it can be a problem but just the right drop and eliminates that terrible that tire / fender gap. The Focus is also more level and doesn't sit tail end high. The ride is a little stiffer but I'm being hypercritical. You would seriously have a hard time telling the difference. Great everyday drive but it's there just in case you need to go fast and stay tight.

Better in every way
First of all the new ride height I think is perfect! It looks the way I think it should have from the factory. Now for the functionality, I have tested these springs in every element: For daily driven purposes they are just slightly more firm then stock. Still very forgiving and enjoyable to drive every day. For track use or spirited driving once under load into the turns they greatly reduce body roll making it much more usable with more aggressive driving. Coupled with the rear sway bar it is downright impressive. I have even tested the new suspension setup at top end, where the car used to have stability issues and start to sway around 140-145, now it is stable up and through 150. In every way, night and day better. Way to go Steeda!
