Want to tear up the pavement and not your differential housing? Steeda has the part for you! Steeda's HARDCORE S550 Mustang Differential Brackets were developed after multiple aluminum differential housings had front ear failures at the track. This simple bolt-in part locks the differential in place and redistributes the loads so that the front ears are under less stress. This enables you to run the aluminum differential housing, which shaves 20+ lbs off of the rear of your S550! The Steeda HARDCORE S550 Mustang Differential Brackets are a must for anyone running today's compounds drag radials and slicks. NVH will be added, but this is a simple install that can be done before a track day and removed when hitting the streets in your daily.

Decrease wheel hop and rear differential movement on your S550 Mustang by adding these braces, differential pinion rise and lateral movement are significantly reduced. Less drivetrain movement means more power to ground. More power to the ground means more enjoyment out of your Mustang.

Steeda's design has also eliminated the single shear design which exists between the rear differential mounting ear and the rear subframe bushing, replacing it with a triple shear design. This reduces the average stress on the bolt, allowing for 3 times the load capacity! But Steeda didn't stop there. Hi everybody Brian from Steeda, coming to you today with some pieces that will help you kill it at the drag strip and not destroy your aluminum differential housing while doing so. The Steeda IRS Differential Support Brackets, for your S550 Mustang.   These Differential Brackets are designed to reinforce the forward mounting points, what we call the ears of the factory differential. Specifically when you're running the aluminum housing, whether your car was equipped with that from the factory or you've changed over to it to save weight because again of course we want to take as much weight out of the car as we can and still have every advantage possible. Well these are designed again to reinforce that and eliminate that single shear aspect if you will of those forward bolts, by diffusing or displacing some of that energy back into the subframe. These support brackets create a connection between the differential ear and the subframe and because of this we do deem these as a Hardcore Race Part. This means ultimately that they're designed for competition use. Not necessarily because you can't use them on the street but more importantly they will introduce more noise, vibration and harshness back into the cabin. So if you're daily driving the car but you're going to the racetrack a lot again you can use them but keep in mind there will be some inherent noise that comes along with them.      In addition to the strength you're going to gain with these brackets they will also help reduce wheel hop, by again giving you a more solid mounting point at the forward mounts. Use these with our differential insert system and in particular with our through bowl kit and boy you've got a great recipe to help reduce wheel hop and ultimately keep the energy going where it needs to, to the tires. Let's face it anytime you're drag racing and you're launching the car you need immediate energy transfer. A must for serious drag racing

Strickly for drag racing..great for straight lanes 0 to 100 plus. I am removing it though since am into backroads and hey crusing. Whenever i downshift i can feel the exta load on the transmission and universal joints. Would recommend steeda drive shaft

Better than expected
The install was a little different than the instructions because I couldn't use the supplied allen heads for the brackets on the front of the housing. My Gforce axles are larger diameter than the stock ones, so I had to reuse the stock bolt. Ended up leaving the top bracket bolts out and put the bolt thru both brackets and then slid it down into place. Luckily I was able to use my friends lift, so it made it easier. After the install, the ass end clunking is a little quieter, but the howling from the rear gears is more prominent. Regardless, the cars reaction to the throttle has definitely improved.

Works as Advertised
I purchased this product for my 2018 6 speed Mustang, and it works as advertised. It cured 90-95% of the wheel hop on street tires (that last 5-10% is due to the street tires). On the track I had zero wheel hop on a MT Et Street R Bias Ply. The instal instructions were a little vague but the install wasn't to bad. I found that if you drop the subframe the install would be a breeze, with the subframe up it is a little tight. Now since this is a solid brace you will get NVH. I did not mind that as I had longtubes and didn't care about NVH. All in all, this part works and I will definitely buy it again. Thanks Steeda !
