If you have substantially lowered your vehicle chances are you have introduced bumpsteer. What is bump steer? Bumpsteer is changes in toe caused by suspension movement.

Every car has bumpsteer, however when you lower the vehicle you increase the amount of bumpsteer that occurs, if this becomes excessive you will begin to notice some unwanted vehicle driving characteristics. When you turn your steering wheel you are essentially changing the toe of the wheels to turn the vehicle.

Excessive bumpsteer is undesirable because it introduces unwanted steering inputs which means the suspension is steering the car instead of the driver. If your car is lowered and has tracking issues and less predictable steering behavior, you need a Steeda S550 Mustang Bumpsteer Kit for your 2015+ Mustang GT, EcoBoost, or V6.

Steeda S550 Mustang Bumpsteer Kit for your S550 Mustang GT, EcoBoost, or V6 will allow you to correct your bumpsteer geometry and can do so without requiring you to drill or modify your vehicle spindle. In addition, our Steeda S550 Mustang Bumpsteer Kit makes a great service replacement for your worn out, high mileage outer tie rods even if you do not have excessive bumpsteer issues.

Pick up a Steeda S550 Mustang Bumpsteer Kit for your 2015+ Mustang GT, EcoBoost, or V6 today and refresh your outer tie rods and improve your steering.

CA Residents: Cancer and Reproductive Harm WARNING

Hi everybody Brian from Here today spotlighting our Bump Steer Kit for the S550 Mustang. The suspension design on the front of the S550 Mustang is really a unique design and Ford had learned a lot from the previous models and has continued to evolve the car and the suspension setup. Bump Steer is exactly what it sounds like when you hit a bump the tendency to want to steer. This means that if you catch a bump on the left side of the car or a bump on the right side of the car the steering wheel may pull just a little bit. That quite literally is Bump Steer you hit a bump as the suspension compresses, the alignment changes and it causes the car to want to steer one direction or the other. Obviously, this is not ideal. The reality to this is it's caused by the different length of the control arm to the different length of the outer tie rod end or the steering rack end. Since they move on separate arches when one starts to go up at more of an angle it starts to pull in the steering a little bit, there you go Bump Steer. Now the factory’s done a really good job of dialing a lot of that out, especially at stock ride height but still exists to some degree because they know the car is going to move within a certain range of motion. If you lower the car you've now changed that range of motion or at least repositioned it if you will and that's why the Bump Steer Kit is important. The advantage that using the Steeda Bump Steer Kit offers is adjustability. So if the car is at stock ride height or it's been lowered some it gives you the adjustability to set the outer tie rod end close to parallel with the lower control arm or the lateral link and this is important because again they move on an arc together but it's the arcs are not quite at the same rate. So as the suspension travels it wants to steer a little bit. So ultimately when you're setting this up it gives you the ability to dial out some of that Bump Steer and you might be questioning yourself again still what is Bump Steer? What does it feel like have I encountered this obviously, we've all felt the steering wheel move. If you've hit the brakes hard and you're fighting the steering wheel that in essence has to do with Bump Steer. It could also be front tires or a couple of other things but the reality is that's a good xaggeration of what happens. The tires toe out and you're kind of fighting that steering a little bit. The idea here is to solve that. If you're road racing or auto crossing the car this will give you again more stability through the corners, better feel and more importantly when you hit those rumble strips like you see Glen doing repeatedly. It's going to keep the car tracking nice and true and the advantages don't just come in while you're cornering we also utilize these on our Silver Bullet World Record-Setting Drag Race Car. This is important because that car as is accelerating utilizing the Comp Cams, the Circle D Torque Converter, the QA1 Drive Shaft and of course the Steeda Stop the Hop Components. That thing goes and the front of the car is up continually. So again you're dialing in the suspension and the steering feel for how you're utilizing the car. The factory units don't give you that option. Again here comes the Steeda Bump Steer Kit. Now these are made in the USA at our Valdosta Georgia manufacturing facility because Speed Matters. To go further on this obviously you see that we've used a heat treated tapered steel stud and this is very important because no modifications are required to the car. We definitely recommend professional installation, in fact, this needs to be done at a shop that knows how to measure the Bump Steer. This is very important in setting it up correctly so that it benefits you the way that it should and to its fullest capacity. Moving to the perpendicular end of things, is the Spherical Bearing and this is made to our specification and it's pre-loaded to ensure that there's no noise or knockback through the steering or through your suspension. It also offers freer movements this means more precise steering feel without any noise as mentioned. Another important aspect is this threads into our CNC Billet Aluminum Collar. We constructed these in Billet Aluminum for strength and durability and then anodized to black for corrosion resistance. Where were you the first time you experienced Bump Steer in your Mustang? This is such an easy mod! Did it in the garage in 30 minutes! No matter the measurements,. You will need an alignment! When I took it to Ford the mechanic came and told me he love Steeda parts! And my whole suspension is Steeda! After I got the Mustang back the smoothness of the steering and the feeling was on point.

Excellent Product!
This bumpsteer kit was an instant attention grabber with my install shop as they were curious on the design and ease of installation. My alignment friend referred to this piece as the best link I've seen. After driving over 100 miles with it on I have not noticed any bumpsteer and this is with my sport progressive springs on. I am more than satisfied with the quality and efficacy of this product, will recommend highly!!!

I'm officially a believer
Ok. So I know everyone has already made threads about their Steeda stuff, but I'm officially a believer! Suspension still was lacking so Steeda was contacted... Springs Sway bars Sway bar Billet Brackets Vertical Links Toe Arms Bump steer kit G-Track Brace IRS bushings MMR Camber Plates Performance wheel alignment The car is a go kart. Set the front sway bars to the center and rear to the lower settings, entry high speed turn is predictible, so much so I haven't learned the limits yet. The ass can be easily manuvered with throttle (Race mode/traction off). The body roll seems like it's gone (once the track wheels/tires come in I'll know for sure), it's unreal, I am in LOVE with the car now. This is the way it should've come from the factory for the PP cars. Really a learning curve, since now everything is souch more compossed. The IRS bushings and arms drastically changed the feel of the car on take off, the power actually goes to the tires (which I spin even easier now, even with camber still within factory specs.) There's not that feeling like the IRS wasn't properly fastened, it feels like it's built in to the body. Such a great mod. I'm ordering the IRS brackets as well, but I don't see how it can really improve further. It that good!! Steeda has my vote!
