When modifying your Mustang and making more power, the 10 spline input shaft of the stock T45, TR3650, and T56 transmission can be a weak point. Swapping the input shaft to a 26 spline or swapping the whole transmission to a Tremec TKO 600 or Borg-Warner T56 Magnum can be a worthwhile upgrade to make sure the transmission can hold up to increased power. This Stage 2 clutch kit from Exedy is designed for 26 spline transmissions and gives your Mustang the engagement it needs with more horsepower.
Cerametallic friction material to hold up to abuse and high-power applications. The Stage 2 kit uses a cerametallic friction material that is able to take much more abuse and hard-driving than organic materials can. The cerametallic assembly will provide better engagement and without slipping or fading at the track.
Paddle style disc and greater clamping load for greater torque capacity. The clamping load of the Exedy clutch cover is increased by 40% to ensure proper engagement with modified engines. The paddle-style clutch disc gives the clutch a higher maximum clamping pressure and is resistant to slip.
