Auburn Mustang Cobra ECTED Electrically Controlled Differential 8.8" IRS - 31 Spline (1999-2004)

Auburn's exciting new ECTED differential combines a limited slip differential with an electronic locking system for spool-like 100% locked performance. This is a first for the Mustang. All previous locking differentials acted as a an open differential when not locked. The Auburn ECTED gives you the performance advantage of a limited slip differential for everyday driving, with the ability to lock the differential at any time for complete torque to both wheels. The electronic locking system can be engaged at any time and at any speed, unlike other locking differentials that require you to stop to engage the locking mechanism.

This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Not only can you engage the locker with a push of the button on the dash, it can even be wired to a boost sensitive switch to automatically engage when a certain boost level is reached. Extremely strong, made from aircraft quality 9310 heat treated billet steel, the ECTED also contains no failure prone pins or shift forks to engage the locking mechanism.
