  Product Description

Correct Your Bumpsteer with this Bumpsteer Kit that features spherical rod-ends with tapered shafts for a hassle-free installation that requires no drilling of the spindle for fit. Recommended for all lowered Mustangs with X2 Balljoints, X5 Balljoints and/or Caster Camber Plates. Now available with a wider range of adjustment than other kits.

Definition: Bumpsteer is a change in toe* angle caused by the suspension moving up or down. Bumpsteer is built into the geometry of the suspension and steering system, and has nothing to do with turning the steering wheel. The effect of bumpsteer is for the wheel to toe-in or toe-out when the suspension moves up or down. This toe change or “steering” occurs any time the suspension moves, whether it is from body roll, brake-dive, or hitting a bump in the road. Bumpsteer is undesirable because the suspension is steering the car instead of the driver.

Steeda Tapered Stud Bolt

2002 Mustang GT

Amazing!! If you've lived in Oklahoma, you would know what Im talking about. I installed Ford "C" springs, my car was all over the place. Did the offset poly-steering rack bushing but to no avail. This kit certainly fixed the problem....especially if you've installed c/c plates for autocross.
I recommend that if you do any kind of lowering, you get these bad boys first.-Dennis

Much Improved

When I lowered my car I knew it wouldn't be perfect, but I didn't think a 1.5 inch drop would alter things as much as it did. I needed all but the smallest two spacers to get it back in line. The best bit being that I ordered the x5 ball joints first which by itself put my alignment really out of whack. These things got it right back where it should be. Fit and finish is very good as well

Definite Must

I agree with Dennis, these are a must on anything other than perfect roads when doing a drop. We lowered our shop Mustang by 1.75", and the bumpsteer was horrible. Installed these from start to finish in about an hour, and was astonished by the dramatic change in steering control. When I put the car up on ramps for before pictures, I was horrified by how off my factory tie rod ends were angled. After a quick install and alignment, my car has so much more control, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Steeda!

Problem Solved

After a K member/coil over install on my 03 the rack was shifted slightly and I didn't have enough threads to align the steering. The additional thread length in the bump steer kit not only solved this problem but addressed the issue of my now massively lowered car as it was designed to do. Typical of Steeda Quality.

IT WORKS!

This kit is awesome! I drive a 2003 GT with Eibach lowering springs, struts, and sway bars. After a few years the alignment gets off kilter, and adjustable camber plates are recommended to correct it. I had the STEEDA cast & camber plates (the better ones), ball joints and the bump steer kits installed at the same time. And with a proper street setup alignment, I noticed the drivability right away.
The car handles much better. I notice that it is easier to turn the steering wheel as if I'm driving a luxury car. The wheel does not want to get away from my hands anymore while driving over bumps or into a driveway. I have not tested the limits yet on a curvy country road but I know I will have lots of fun! Thank you STEEDA for designing these parts and recommending all three together.

Saleen Upgrade

I have installed this kit now on two of my prized positions and the bumpsteer kit is by far the greatest investment you can do for your lowered car. I know the older Saleen Mustangs didn't come with this setup but as soon as I added the bumpsteer kit combined with the x-2 ball joints, off-set A-arm bushings and an awesome caster camber kit to finish the job my Mustangs both handled great to say the least. Take the undue stress away from your current setup and upgrade to this kit which will give you the drivability you would expect from such an upgrade.

I Have Control

A combination of the bump steer kit, X5 ball joints, steeda competition spring seats, steeda extreme springs and ford racing shocks, I was able to aquire complete control of the vehicle. The car goes where I want it to, not where the bumps send me. There is virtually no play in the steering wheel. I love this setup. Only draw back was it was a very slight challange to get the rod end onto the stud on the spindle. When getting these aligned make sure you take them to a shop that knows how to set the spacers.
