If you have substantially lowered your vehicle chances are you have introduced bump steer. What is bump steer? Bump Steer is changes in toe caused by suspension movement.

Every car has bump steer, however when you lower the vehicle you increase the amount of bump steer that occurs, if this becomes excessive you will begin to notice some unwanted vehicle driving characteristics.

When you turn your steering wheel you are essentially changing the toe of the wheels to turn the vehicle. Excessive bump steer is undesireable because it introduces unwanted steering inputs which means the suspension is steering the car instead of the driver.

If your car is lowered and has tracking issues and less predictable steering behavior, you need a bump steer kit.

Steeda's Bump Steer Kits will allow you to correct your bump steer geometry and can do so without requiring you to drill or modify your vehicle spindle.

In addition, our bump steer kit makes a great service replacement for your worn out, high mileage outer tie rods even if you do not have excessive bump steer issues.

Pick up a bump steer kit today and refresh your outer tie rods and improve your steering.

Product Reviews

This bumpsteer kit did wonders for my car's handling! The steering wheel used to jerk around on bumps, not anymore.

Had Steeda in Pompano install these along with X2 ball joints on my 04 Mach 1. Handling is awesome and steering is much tighter and more predictable.

I have installed this kit now on two of my prized positions and the bumpsteer kit is by far the greatest investment you can do for your lowered car. I know the older Saleen Mustangs didn't come with this setup but as soon as I added the bumpsteer kit combined with the x-2 ball joints, off-set A-arm bushings and an awesome caster camber kit to finish the job my Mustangs both handled great to say the least. Take the undue stress away from your current setup and upgrade to this kit which will give you the drivability you would expect from such an upgrade.

A combination of the bump steer kit, X5 ball joints, steeda competition spring seats, steeda extreme springs and ford racing shocks, I was able to aquire complete control of the vehicle. The car goes where I want it to, not where the bumps send me. There is virtually no play in the steering wheel. I love this setup. Only draw back was it was a very slight challange to get the rod end onto the stud on the spindle. When getting these aligned make sure you take them to a shop that knows how to set the spacers.

When I lowered my car I knew it wouldn't be perfect, but I didn't think a 1.5 inch drop would alter things as much as it did. I needed all but the smallest two spacers to get it back in line. The best bit being that I ordered the x5 ball joints first which by itself put my alignment really out of whack. These things got it right back where it should be. Fit and finish is very good as well

I agree with Dennis, these are a must on anything other than perfect roads when doing a drop. We lowered our shop Mustang by 1.75", and the bumpsteer was horrible. Installed these from start to finish in about an hour, and was astonished by the dramatic change in steering control. When I put the car up on ramps for before pictures, I was horrified by how off my factory tie rod ends were angled. After a quick install and alignment, my car has so much more control, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks Steeda!

After a K member/coil over install on my 03 the rack was shifted slightly and I didn't have enough threads to align the steering. The additional thread length in the bump steer kit not only solved this problem but addressed the issue of my now massively lowered car as it was designed to do. Typical of Steeda Quality.

This kit is awesome! I drive a 2003 GT with Eibach lowering springs, struts, and sway bars. After a few years the alignment gets off kilter, and adjustable camber plates are recommended to correct it. I had the STEEDA cast & camber plates (the better ones), ball joints and the bump steer kits installed at the same time. And with a proper street setup alignment, I noticed the drivability right away. The car handles much better. I notice that it is easier to turn the steering wheel as if I'm driving a luxury car. The wheel does not want to get away from my hands anymore while driving over bumps or into a driveway. I have not tested the limits yet on a curvy country road but I know I will have lots of fun! Thank you STEEDA for designing these parts and recommending all three together.

Amazing!! If you've lived in Oklahoma, you would know what Im talking about. I installed Ford "C" springs, my car was all over the place. Did the offset poly-steering rack bushing but to no avail. This kit certainly fixed the problem....especially if you've installed c/c plates for autocross.I recommend that if you do any kind of lowering, you get these bad boys first.-Dennis
