Whenever you install a new clutch it's a good idea to replace the flywheel to reduce clutch chatter and promote maximum durability.
Many shops use a basic resurfacing machine that leaves hot spots and heat cracks on your flywheel as well as regularly leaving high spots that can cause uneven engagement and accelerated wear.
Upgrage to a billet steel flywheel that meets SFI spec 1.1 and add extra safety and prevent flywheel failure from excessive horsepower, heat, and high RPM.
Ford Racing aluminum flywheels are also SFI approved and will greatly reduce rotating mass for improved acceleration and response.
Don't trust your flywheel on your high horsepower Mustang to resurfacing. Do your clutch right the first time with a new flywheel.
Note: Some 4.6L 2V engines may have 8 bolt instead of 6 bolt crankshafts. Romeo plant built engines have 6 bolts, Windsor plant built engines have 8 bolts. Using the 8th digit of your VIN number, VIN character X is for Romeo engines, VIN character W is for Windsor engines. Please identify your engine before ordering.
