Sway Bars

When Ford debuted the S197 generation of the Mustang, the car was an instant icon. The classic lines, the rumbling 3-valve V8 and the overall personality of the car gave off the aura of owning the streets. These cars, as good as they are, were not always able to handle properly the competition from Japan, Germany, and eventually even other American cars. These cars were incredibly capable but could use a hand to reach their fullest potential. To reach the performance they had always been intended to have, these cars only needed a slight push further in the direction of handling.

The first generation of the S197 Mustang could very easily get its handling improved with basic upgrades like sway bars. By replacing the factory sway bars with upgraded sway bars, you can reduce body roll and understeer when pushed hard in the corner. These upgraded sway bars are designed to improve handling and have been tested on the race track to ensure they are functional and effective at high speeds. With a thicker material and design than the factory sway bars, these bars improve roll stiffness and in turn your car's handling around turns.

Here at Steeda, we have been developing and modifying suspension and handling parts for the Mustang for over 35 years and in that time we have learned what parts truly perform and well as what it takes for these parts to be as good as they are. When it comes to these parts, we have tested them on our personal cars and have seen firsthand how much they improve handling. We have pushed our cars to the limits with these upgrades and are sure you will enjoy the results on yours as well.
