Steeda's Tri-Ax shifter for the 2011 and up Mustang V6 and GT is crafted from billet aluminum, steel, and composite components for solid construction and to provide no increase in shifter NVH. This shifter will provide a 20% shorter throw and retains full reverse lockout functionality of the factory shifter and also allows for spring pressure adjustment.

Re-engineered pivot mechanism to provide no change in shifter knob height to preserve shifter ergonomics while still providing a shorter throw. Nickel plated finish for great looks and corrosion protection.

Accepts factory shift knobs and aftermarket knobs with M12 x 1.25 thread pitch. Easy to install and does not require any permanent modifications to your vehicle. Comes with a lifetime warranty.

I am not a performance driver anymore. These days my Mustang is my daily driver and weekend cruiser. So my needs in a short throw shifter are somewhat different than those of most enthusiasts. I wanted a shifter with a somewhat shorter throw than stock but still long enough for my relaxed shifting style. But most of all, the shifter had to be as quiet as stock. I tried one of the very expensive performance shifters and liked the shorter throw but hated the amount of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) that it introduced, so after about a month I went back to the shop and had them reinstall the stock shifter. I found out later that the NVH problem was due to damage caused by an improper installation so I don't know what it would have been like had it been properly installed.

Once back to using the stock shifter, I realized how much I still wanted a shorter throw but without the NVH so I started asking around and came to the conclusion that the Steeda Short Throw Shifter might be my best option. After some conversation with the helpful people at Steeda, I ordered and received their shifter. I had a different shop do the installation this time. Driving away after the installation, I noticed an immediate difference that brought a grin to my face. This shifter was exactly what I was looking for! It has a nice throw that is shorter than stock but not too extreme. It has very precise movement and best of all, it is just as quiet as the stock shifter! There is a slight click as it is pulled into each gear that is more felt than heard and is a reassuring confirmation that you are in the gear. The reverse lockout is positive without requiring too much effort (I had expected I would want to switch to the included lighter spring but decided it wasn't necessary once I tried it).

I can't say how it would do in performance use since that's not my style but if you are looking for a reasonably priced quality shifter with great feel and no added noise then the Steeda shifter is a great choice. I could not be more pleased!

Guys/gals, this is one of the best upgrades you can do for your manual transmission! Shorter throws and quicker acceleration!

I've done many mods to my 2011 5.0 GT. Although I have a detuned 566 rwhp, 4.10 gears and a custom look, this has to be my favorite mod I've done. I feel like it changed my muscle car into a true sports car. I like to also give a shout out to Gus who has done nothing but go out of his way to help me build my car. You will not get this service at Roush or Saleen. Thanks.

This is an amazing shifter. Rock steady, sure positive shifts. No more missing that 2-3 shift, and a much surer shift into reverse. This shifter has been a terrific upgrade in my car, and makes the GT even more fun to drive. Highly recommended

This is my second Steeda shifter. I installed one in my 2003 GT. This was not as simple an install but just as sweet. Took me about an hour by myself on jack stands. Nice smoot firm shifts, just what you want and expect. Plus made in the USA!

This is an excellent shifter. Gone are the missed gears, the grinding, wondering if you found reverse or not. This shifter makes driving a manual fun again. Super easy 2-3rd gear shifts, short throw and no difference in NVH over stock, might even be quieter than stock but I can't prove it.

Finally I got my Tri-Ax Shifter and had it installed at the Steeda campus in Pompano Beach today. On the way home I had ample opportunity to get a feel for the new shifter, and I must say, I'm extremely impressed, as with all other Steeda parts I have on my new 5.0. I finally feel that I actually have control over the shifts, versus the rather flimsy OEM stock shifter. The premium shift ball fits perfectly and unless you shift, you wouldn't notice the difference. The shifter height seems to be the same as stock as well. I guess I have to re-learn my shifting when backing up, as I was so used to the stock set-up and very light spring. It's much more difficult with the Steeda shifter to get the car in reverse by accident, which is a big bonus!I would highly recommend this modification to anyone want to get control over precise shifts... Another awesome "must have" product from Steeda!

Installed on a 2011 V6. easy install. Great 2-3 shift. The new reverse takes a little getting used to since ford went with the push down and up-over movement (foreign cars)for reverse...the shifter kit comes with some extra springs that will gelp adjust the pressure needed for reverse. overall, great shifter

This shifter is a must needed modification for the 11-12 Mustangs..the stock shifter is way too sloppy and has too much play. You wont miss a gear with this shifter! BEST MOD!

I've read that one of the first things that should be done to improve the 2011 5.0 Mustang is to replace the stock shifter. I can't say I was impressed with the stocker, but I didn't think it was that bad. Still, I knew of Steeda's reputation from years of reading the top two Mustang magazines (MM&FF and 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords). So I ordered one for my Coyote and after letting it sit around for about three weeks, installed it yesterday. The instructions were clear and concise, warning of any areas to be wary of. The swap was an exercise in things "gone right" instead of the all-to-often result of wishing that I had paid someone to do it.The difference was amazing and made me realize just how poor the stock shifter really is. The construction was beautiful and the feel is most impressive. It is everything and more that the Steeda folks claim.
Now I have the problem of deciding which Steeda suspension set-up I will buy next.
