Product Details Our Winningest Track Suspension Gets Some Street Smarts!
Better Handling, Easy Installation AND Rear Exhaust? Yes!
The Steeda 5-Link Suspension is a proven winner on the track, but our customers asked for a more streetable version that would allow tailpipes. We listened to their input and then went to work. The result is a package that gives up little in terms of performance, but installs easily and accommodates street neccessities, like tailpipes and sway bars.
The handling benefits of the original 5 Link design were closely modeled, so the 5 Link 2 offers the same levels of performance in roll center reduction, positive lateral control, improved anti-squat geometry, increased traction, and dynamic stability. New, improved features include compatibility with tailpipes, easier access to the differential for service, optional bolt-on installation, and compatibility with Steeda's adjustable rear sway bar and rear coilovers.
Installation of the Steeda 5 Link 2 Suspension is a straightforward, bolt-on procedure, following the illustrated instructions supplied.
SCCA American Sedan Racers like Tom Himes, Robert Eubanks and Robert Davis credit the original Steeda 5 Link for part of their success! Now, with the Steeda 5 Link 2, you can take Track Tested performance and easily install it into your streetable 'Stang.
Note about tailpipes:On some cars the factory tailpipes may fit by disconnecting them from the muffler, rotating them slightly and reattaching them. However, on most cars the midsection of the tailpipes will have to be modified by an exhaust shop to fit properly. If you have aftermarket tailpipes a new midsection will have to be fabricated.

ADVANTAGES OVER A TORQUE ARM: 1. Better anti-squat geometry than a torque arm, less corner-exit understeer.
2. Torque arms have a short, fixed-length side-view swing-arm, making the car prone to wheel-hop during hard braking. In contrast, the 5-Link's upper and lower links work together to create an instant-center geometry which moves in response to suspension loads. During acceleration the instant-center moves rearward to counter the effects of chassis squat. During braking, the instant-center
moves forward in response to chassis lift, lengthening the side-view swing-arm to reduce the possibility of wheel hop that is likely to occur in a torque arm equipped Mustang.
3. Better ground clearance than a torque arm. No parts hang below the rear axle, so you can easily fit a jack under the differential.
