Roll Cages

The Mustang has had its racing pedigree since early in its production, competing both nationally and internationally. One of the most important preparatory measures for racing these cars was ensuring the driver's safety in case of a crash or rollover. Regardless of the increased safety measures through each iteration of the Mustang, a properly engineered and installed roll cage can make the difference between walking away from a crash or not. In addition to improved structural rigidity and safety in a rollover, roll cages are necessary to compete in a lot of racing settings. Along with this, adding a roll cage to your car can improve cornering ability and acceleration because of the added weight being evenly distributed throughout the car.

In most forms of racing, a roll cage of some sort is a requirement at a professional or semi-professional level. In drag racing, a cage is required if you are making passes at above 135 miles per hour as specified by the NHRA. In SCCA affiliated races, roll cages are required at the professional level, as well as in NASA racing.

Whether you road race, autocross or take your Mustang to the drag strip, Steeda has the best roll bar for your application. A safety cage is required by many racing sanctions and usually not a bad idea regardless of activity. Primarily a cage will prevent bodily injury to vehicle occupants in the event of a roll over or collision. Secondarily, a well engineered unit can increase chassis rigidity giving you increased traction launching in a straight line as well as through the twistiest corners.
