Last month I installed The CAI and High flow carbon fiber elbow on my 2008 GT/CS. The web site claimed a fuel savings. My expereince is that it does improve gas milage. The problem is it also improves accelateration, I mean a seat of the pants feel that your Mustange now has the power you did not have before. So if you can keep your foot from the feel good accelateration you can improve gas milage, in my case gas milage has dropped, but I love the that seat of the pants feel.

Excellent product!!!!! I can't wait for the next move

It's a dual edged sword! If you can keep your foot out of it, that is. Grin

SteedaSteve,
Does the carbon fiber elbow really give you approximately 8 hp - 8 tq more over the normal Steeda plastic elbow?  That seems like alot.

Reason I'm asking is I'm about to buy the normal Steeda cai and I'm trying to determine if it's work the extra $$ (i.e. if it's just cosmetic than I would just stick with the plastic elbow).

Also, I've heard if I install Steeda charge motion plates I will lose some hp and tq on the low end, but get about 10 hp more in the upper rpms.

Thanks for the help.

The 8hp is for people that were using just the velocity stack CAI. The gains will be the same with the carbon fiber or the plastic intake for you.

You might see a minor loss of torque on the bottom end with the charge motions, but not anything worth mentioning. You will get around a 10hp increase from around 3000 rpms up with them.
