Steeda 555-3120 in 05 GT

I recently added a Steeda CAI (pn 555-3120) to my 05 Mustang GT.  I have 2 questions: 
I have a Diablo tuner and loaded its program for the 91 Octane Steeda but its giving me trouble when starting the car cold.  Do you have a better tune I can upload to my tuner and install in the car? 

The other is, when I removed the stock CAI, there appeared to be a honeycomb insert in the stock intake tube.  What is the purpose for this and can I remove it.

You'll need to contact Diablo for a new tune as we are an SCT dealer, and I can't help unless you have that.

you can leave the honeycomb insert where it is, it won't hurt anything.

Is there any advantage to leaving/removing the honey comb insert?  It seems to me there would be less restriction w/o it, but figure its in there to reduce turbulance thru the MAF.

it does smooth the flow of air to the MAF
