Hi, I have a 2004 GT with your double hook quadrant and firewall adjuster using the stock cable. Would you happen to know how many "clicks" I can turn before I run into any problems such as preloading the TOB?

I live in an apartment complex so breaking out ramps and getting under the car isn't really an option for me. Thanks!

It depends on your clutch but at the clutch fork you do want to "pre-load" the throw out bearing, meaning when you have proper adjustment at the fork you do have a light load on the cable so there is no slack but there is a light load pulling on the fork, and hence the throw out bearing. That is a proper adjustment. From there you just use the firewall adjuster to adjust engagement height slightly if desired. The amount of height adjustment will also depend on the type of clutch being used so there is no set answer for this.

To add to this question:
So if I find myself with a little bit of slack in the pedal I should not try to adjust that with the firewall adjuster?  Should I take up the slack at the fork?

take it up at the firewall adjuster, that's what it's for, that way you don't have to crawl under the car! Smiley
