Steeda Supports 9/11 Fallen Heroes Second Annual Mustang Caravan

Steeda Autosports was proud to support and participate in the Second Annual 9/11 Fallen Heroes Mustang Caravan. The event, held to commemorate the Fallen Heroes of the September 11, attack five years ago, is hosted and coordinated by www.SouthFloridaStangs.net a South Florida Internet company whose members all share a passion for Mustang and for this very worthy cause. The inaugural caravan in 2005 was a huge success and raised several thousands of dollars for the Fallen Firefighters Foundation. This year’s event raised money for a similar charity: www.911families.org that raises money for the children of those who died in the attacks. Mustang Clubs from West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami worked hard to make the event a rousing success.

Steeda Autosports President, Dario Orlando and son Zachary took part in caravan, driving their 2006 Steeda Q 335. “What a wonderful turnout of over 150 Mustangs for such a worthy cause,” Dario stated.” We had a great time and it viewing all the Mustangs was a sight to behold” he continued. The Steeda flagship Mustang, the Q 525, fresh from extensive track time and testing the week before at Barber Motorsports Park during the Mustang Club of America 30th Anniversary Stampede,  was equally at home on the caravan. Steeda Sales Professional, Patt Kinder, a staunch supporter of the event, which included the caravan, Mustang car show and fund raising barbeque, handled the Q525 driving duties. The barbeque, held at Dania Beach, Florida was highlighted by the fund raising raffle with prizes from a number of companies.

Steeda Autosports Enjoys The MCA 30TH Anniversary

Steeda Autosports helped the Mustang Club of America celebrate their 30th Anniversary at the fantastic Barber Motorsports Park this past Labor Day weekend.  For the past eighteen months, event director, Steve McCarley and his cadre of talented Mustang enthusiasts worked hard to create and execute an event that would attract Mustang enthusiasts from all over the word. They were extremely successful! The Stampede with three days of open track, a cruise, car show, plus a large number of vendors was a Mustang enthusiast dream event.

Steeda Autosports entered two cars in the open track, the awesome 580 horsepower Q 525 and the always impressive 2001 Q 400. Both cars took part in the cruise through the beautiful Alabama countryside to the town of Homewood. Never in the history of this quaint berg have so many Mustangs (hundreds) filled the main street and adjoining parking areas. A sight to excite any car enthusiast, no matter what their brand of choice. A fun evening for everyone.

The next day the Steeda contingent was  joined by 2005 NASA American Iron Champion, Robin Burnett and his Steeda Q. Robin is the points leader in his NASA American Iron Division heading into the NASA Championships at Mid-Ohio Raceway, September 14-17. Also traveling from Dearborn, Michigan, was Robin’s long time friend and crew chief, John Moore, who brought his 2007 Grabber Orange Steeda Q 335. They were joined by Rick Ciemny who drove his 2005 Steeda Torch Red Q335 all the way from Wellington , Kansas. In addition there were numerous other Steeda Mustangs entered in the open track event.

The open track event was the perfect venue for Steeda to continue testing and evaluation of new performance parts on both the Q525 and Q400. Since founding the company in 1988, President Dario Orlando has made sure that all Steeda performance parts are competition proven before they are offered for sale. “ We know from our experience that if the parts prove out on the race track, they will excel on the street” Dario stated.

Under the expert tutelage of MCA members and open track veterans Larry Kilgore and James Ray, the three day open track went off perfectly. Steeda was very proud to have both John Moore’s Rick Ciemny’s Q 335s chosen to be the pace cars for the event. Like all the Steeda Q mustangs these performance cars were equally at home at speed on the track or heading down the Interstate.

Steeda Autosports would like to thank Steve McCarley, Deputy Director Steve Prewitt and all the Mustang Club of America people who labored long and hard to make the MCA 30th Anniversary Stampede such a fun and memorable time.

Ed Hosni SCCA Central Division American Sedan Champion in Steeda Equipped Mustang

Veteran SCCA racer, Ed Hosni, running out of Northville, Michigan got a late start this June in SCCA American Sedan racing. However, this not stop Hosni from capturing the SCCA Central Division Championship in his Steeda equipped 1985 Mustang. Winning the Central Division crown is not an easy feat as there is always stiff competition from Firebirds and Camaros campaigned by GM engineers. Ed’s Mustang is equipped with the famed, state of the art, Steeda 5-Link rear suspension. When combined with Steeda’s caster camber plates, bump steer kit and front sway bar, Hosni’s Mustang handles like it on rails.  Ed installed Steeda’s patented Tri-Ax shifter, the best selling performance shifter on the market, to make sure he never misses a gear in the heat of American Sedan competition.

Next stop for the Central Division Champion is the SCCA Run-Offs at Heartland Park,Topeka, Kansas, where over 700 drivers from all over the country compete for SCCA National Class Championships, October 9-15.
